  • Nashville: Breweries + Babies

The Best Kid-Friendly Breweries in Nashville: Mom-Approved & Toddler-Tested! Let’s face it, Nashville is the  place to be for food, drinks, and live music—but finding family-friendly places? That's a whole other ballgame. As a local mom, I’ve spent my fair share of time trying to find spots where I can enjoy a cold brew without the stress of worrying about whether my toddler will have a meltdown (spoiler: she usually does, but at least I’m at a place that gets it!). So, if you’re looking for places that get  that sometimes you need a cold one while your little one needs some room to run and play, here are 3 breweries that have earned their spot on my "must-visit" list for families in Nashville. 1. East Nashville Beer Works (Both Locations!) Listen up, East Nashville Beer Works is a family haven . Not only are both their locations welcoming to families, but they also get it right when it comes to balancing quality beer with family fun. The staff? Super friendly, even when your little one spills their juice all over the table (whoops). The Lebanon location (which opened in 2024) is a game-changer. It’s HUGE! I’m talking enough space for you to spread out, and if your kiddo needs to blow off some steam, there’s a playground . Yes, you read that right—a playground at a brewery. I’m telling you, this place was made for parents like us. They also serve pizza (because, let’s be real, what kid doesn’t love pizza?), and they even have a kids’ menu, which means you’re not just feeding them pretzels and hope. Oh, and don’t forget about the snacks and drinks for kids—they’ve got that covered too. Highchairs? Check. All of it makes for a super relaxed, enjoyable experience for both you and your kiddo. 2. Tailgate Brewery (Especially Germantown) Now, let’s talk about Tailgate Brewery, which is an all-time favorite  in our family. Located right by the baseball field, this spot has the perfect balance of indoor and outdoor seating—so no matter the weather, you’re covered. And let’s be honest, Nashville’s weather can be... unpredictable. But don’t worry, this place has you covered with plenty of space to let your kids run around (just maybe not in the beer garden, please). The Germantown location is my personal favorite because we can walk over to the nearby park first, let the little one run around, then stroll over for pizza and beers afterward. It’s a one-two punch of fun and relaxation, and it doesn’t hurt that the brewery is never too  crowded—except, of course, on game days, but that’s kind of the charm of it, right? Plus, they’re always stocked with highchairs, because nothing says “we know you have kids” like that. 3. Fat Bottom Brewery Fat Bottom Brewery has a little something for everyone—especially if you’re craving a bigger menu . Sometimes you just need more than pizza, am I right? This neighborhood gem has a mix of indoor and outdoor seating and, yes, highchairs. It’s the kind of place where you can linger a little longer with your drink and food while your kiddo gets some space to explore (but, you know, safely). The back room is perfect for when you need a little extra space to wrangle your toddler, and there’s a nice outdoor area to let them burn off some energy. Plus, with a more extensive menu, you’re not just settling for whatever’s easy—you’re getting good food . Not that I’m complaining about pizza, but sometimes it’s nice to have options, right? ----------- So there you have it—three of Nashville's best breweries for families. Whether you’re looking to introduce your little one to their first sip of sparkling apple juice (don’t worry, I’m not judging) or just need a space to unwind while they explore, these spots are perfect for making those family outings a little bit easier and a lot more fun. Pro mom tip:  Don’t forget snacks. Because, you know, toddlers always seem to get hungry right when you sit down to enjoy that first sip of your beer! 😅 Cheers to family-friendly breweries and sanity-saving moments!

  • New Orleans: A Guide to the Big Easy

Hello, fellow adventurers! As a mom who's been to New Orleans more times than I can count (okay, it's at least 15), I've learned a thing or two about making the most of this vibrant city. Each visit unveils something new, and I can't wait to share my tips for a memorable trip. 1. Embrace the Heat (and the Humidity) Yes, it's hot and muggy. But hey, it's New Orleans! Dress in light, breathable fabrics, stay hydrated, and remember: sweat is just your body's way of saying, "You're on vacation!" 2. Footwear Follies Open-toed shoes? Not in this city. Between the cobblestone streets and the occasional puddle, closed-toe shoes are your best friend. Trust me, your feet will thank you. 3. Quench Your Thirst at Ernst CafĂ© Looking for a budget-friendly beverage? Head to Ernst CafĂ© for $1.50 beers. Yes, you read that right. Cheers to that! 4. Walk It Off New Orleans is best explored on foot. Wander through the French Quarter, stroll along the Mississippi River, and discover hidden gems around every corner. 5. Late-Night Munchies? Clover Grill to the Rescue Out too late for a classic diner burger? The Clover Grill has you covered. Open 24/7, it's the perfect spot to satisfy those midnight cravings. 6. Dine at Superior Seafood For a meal that's both delicious and atmospheric without the fancy price tag, Superior Seafood is the place to be. Fresh seafood, live music, and a lively crowd make it a must-visit. 7. Experience the Hurricane at Pat O'Brien's Get ONE hurricane from Pat O'Brien's and split it with your group. It might not win any taste awards, and it's a bit pricey, but it's a New Orleans tradition that's worth experiencing. 8. Go on a Gator Tour Ever wanted to see alligators up close? A pontoon boat tour through the swamps is a fun and safe way to do it. Just keep your hands inside the boat! 9. Rise and Shine Early Wake up early—like, really early—and take a peaceful walk before the city wakes up. The streets are quieter, the air is cooler, and you'll see a side of New Orleans that's often missed. 10. Explore Beyond the French Quarter While the French Quarter is iconic, don't miss out on other neighborhoods like the Garden District, Uptown, and Mid-City. Each area has its own charm and unique attractions. 11. Indulge in Local Cuisine From po'boys to gumbo, New Orleans' food scene is a culinary adventure. Don't be afraid to try something new—your taste buds will thank you. 12. Enjoy Live Music Whether it's jazz on Frenchmen Street or a brass band parade, live music is the heartbeat of the city. Let the rhythm move you! 13. Stay Safe and Have Fun As with any city, stay aware of your surroundings, especially at night. But most importantly, relax, enjoy, and let the spirit of New Orleans sweep you off your feet. So, pack your bags, put on those sturdy shoes, and get ready for an unforgettable adventure in the Big Easy!
